First Day of School!

Bridget's first day of school was August 21st, where her dad got to go with her. It was only an hour and a half, but she got right into learning!  Her teacher (Mrs. Johnson)  read them a story about a baby and a daddy racoon, and they made a picture about it.

Kaitlyn was excited for Sis, she wanted to be right there with her!

There's always a project to be worked on

So after our trip to California where we crushed the front end with Semi truck retread, Josh finally found some time to take the whole thing apart.  I mean, he had to take the roof, side walls, bed ends, and the lift system off front and back.  He didn't need to fix the lift from the new damage, but it was bent when we bought it, so since he was taking most of it off anyway to fix the front piece, then he figured he would do both at that time.

I think it's a sad picture, and I know with out a doubt most of you think it looks like a piece of work, but it's a pretty simplified design that it's easy to take things off and put back together.  ***And it looks a million times cooler in person... from the inside!  :)
 Putting it back together.
After the roof was back on and the walls reattached, we replaced the rest of the wall paneling, well all but one piece and the kitchen stuff.

Withing all this, I brought Chinese home one night, and this was Josh's fortune.  We both laughed.  (I should make a post of all the things he IS working on. (Hobby)  or all the stuff that he gets deals on and has to buy even though he has 50 already... or maybe just a picture of the Garage would give this fortune a good laugh!  ...Oh geez!

Baking my cakes off

Ok for Nicole (my sister in-law) and Brian's wedding I volunteered to do the baking.  I made 400 Chocolate chip cookies, about 200 white chocolate macadamia, 100 nutter butter, and 125 whoopie pies. It was a long day, but I'll admit, it was a little fun too.

I didn't get the best, or very many pictures of everything, but here's a picture of the nutter butters before they were made into sandwiches. I got quite a few complements on them and shared my recipe on facebook.  (I lied at the wedding and told people that it was from my personal cookbook....hehehe Yes I shared the truth later)

The next day after all the cookie baking, I made 4 batches of cupcakes.  They were a LOT easier... especially buy putting them in the cups with a squeeze bottle!

I think these lemon blue berry ones were my fav.  I just like how cute and simple they turned out.   (I didn't get a picture of the cute wedding sparkled ones.  There were two big boxes total.

And of coarse I didn't take any pictures AT the wedding.  My camera was dead.  It was very cute. Nicole and Annette spent a lot of time making most of the decorations and cake pops as well.  It was a long and very fun day.  So fun, that Kaitlyn crashed after she walked in the door!

Out like a light!

Bridget's 5th Birthday

For Bridget's birthday this year, she got a telescope that Josh and I were excited to give her, so we set it up the night before.
For her party, she got to have a few friends over with her cousins, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
Melanie made some fun bean-bags, that they did a "shooting star" toss.
 (Kaitlyn somehow lost her pants)

I don't have pictures of everything, but we had made an observatory under the trampoline with some home-made constellations where the kids had to find all 8.  I thought it was a fun idea, but it was a little too hot for the kids to get into it all.

her friends were excited to show her what they had given her.

I had gotten this apron, and chef hat and thought she would be so excited over it... when she opened it she looked at it and acted like it was the coolest thing, but when I asked her what it was, she said, "Um, I don't know what it is!"  It was funny.
She was really excited about her scooter, since she had asked us for one, but we had such a big day, we didn't break it out until the next day.

She had a hard time getting used to the balancing. but I think that she's getting to be quite the pro now!  :)
Now that my big girl is 5, she'll be leaving me next week for school.  I'm still a little nervous about that!

Kaityln gets her ears pierced

Kaitlyn's was excited about playing dress up with Bridget's costume jewelry, and since Sister got her ears pierced when she turned two, we'd do K-bob's too.  She thought it was an exciting day...

Pointing to where her earrings are going.
 marking the spot
 bracing for the poke
I know this is a sad picture, but it seriously lasted until the lady handed her a sucker, and she forgot all about it.
Kaitlyn has LOVED showing of her earrings to everyone... if someone says the word "pretty" or "ears"  she has to run over and show off her bling!  :)
