Vacation

So Josh has taken some vacation days this week because we were supposed to go to Hoop Lake camping with his parent. However the trip was canceled due to the price of gas. So now I have a feeling that the truck project is going to be his vacation!

This morning he tore out the dash, took the windshield off, and was taking the rest of the trim pieces off.

It's about ready for the sanding, grinding, and sand blasting!

Happy Birthday Squash!

Josh's Birthday is only three days after Bridget's, so we were pretty birthday'd out. He told me he didn't want a cake, so when he came home from work the morning of his birthday, I made him breakfast. You can't really have a birthday without some kind of cake!

Pan-Cake!

We went and saw Batman: the Dark Knight after Josh woke up from his 3 hour sleep for the day.
we thought that it would still be pretty packed so we were there about 2o minutes early. There were probably only about 8 people in the theater. It was pretty sweet.

Bridget gave dad a funny card that said: " Hey Dad, knowing how you love your lawn, I got you some of the most effective fertilizer ever made..." then in the inside it had a Cow who's tail moves and said... "hold on, I'm working on it!" Also some of his favorite candy, Bottle Caps and peanut butter whoppers.

We went to Iggies with his parents, Heidi, and Chris & Lindsey. Josh said he chose that place cause they don't sing for Birthdays there, so he wouldn't be embarrassed... He was pretty suspicious of Heidi and I of doing something. Heidi and I went in on new headlights for his truck. So Heidi was just giving him one headlight at dinner. I guess Heidi and I thought it was going to be more funny than it was, and our plan of him thinking that there was just one light didn't work so well because when I ran back into the house to move the other light to the porch so it would would have looked as if it had been "shipped" when we were gone... but he saw the LMC TRUCK box. He was really confused. He didn't think it was very funny. In fact this morning he said... "So what was the whole headlight thing about?"

I know that now all of you are confused on what was supposed to happen, as is Josh.

When the night was over he said it was a good Birthday.

Happy Birthday Bridget Rae

Bridget's birthday turned out pretty well. Despite the hot weather and having to wait on the food, I thought everything turned out better than I thought It would have.
For the last few days Bridget's had a little fever and was a little grumpy. I'm assuming it's more teeth coming in... But all in all, she was a happy little trooper!

Thanks to all of Heidi's fabulous help, Josh's excellent cooking, and My.... decorating visions... I think it was an fantastic first birthday. Hopefully Bridget enjoyed it as well!

Thank YOU to everyone who helped and came to Celebrate with Bridget! We love all of you and are thankful to have you as family and friends!

Love,
The Smith Family

Bear Lake

Josh finally got another weekend off! Well... it was Thursday-Sunday, so that's a pretty good weekend! On Friday we decided to go to Bear Lake for a little bit. So we packed up our gear, got a sandwich and took off. When we got to the beach we found a place that was pretty clear, not too close to anyone, and set up "camp" out on the bank of sand between the beach and the Lake.

While waiting for our food to digest and Bridget to wake up from the drive, we watched a guy with too lady's drive up on the sand in a little Mazda truck and bury the back-end up to the bumper. After digging himself deeper and realizing he was stuck, people about 100 yards away from us pulled their big nice Dodge up to pull him out. In the mean time, one of the two dogs that were in the back of the Mazda (tied up) jumped out and was almost ran over by the back tire. The Dodge's family was Yelling "DOG!" the guy from the Mazda jumps out after his dog leaving his truck still being pulled by the Dodge. The Mazda slams into the Back of the dodge crushing in the Mazda's front quarter panel, and bending the door so it wasn't shut.

By this time, Bridget woke up and the seagulls ate the rest of our lunch.
We were ready for a swim!

Josh buried Bridget in the sand. well... Sea shells!

Maybe an hour after being there a whole family came. I guess they decided that they were going to take over OUR beach, cause we couldn't figure out why they didn't go north further from us. So when we decided that we were being pushed out but the diving parachute kite and bombarded by this family... it was time to leave.

In this picture, there is Josh packing up the red chair on the Right. If you didn't know better, you would have thought that it was our family!

After we got home and all showered, we realized that we were all lobsters!

Re-painting

So I originally wanted polka-dots and stripes in Bridget's room when i first painted... but painting while pregnant kinda limited me. So it's been a year, and now I decided to finally do it.

Although it's a little rough around the edges... it's looking pretty cute. I figure it will be just like any other painting project... (almost completed). We'll have to see how long before Josh tells me I need to finish what I start again!

Car Show

We had to go check out the cars and trucks at the fair grounds this year. We went Saturday morning to try and beat the heat. It was still HOT!

Bridget fit perfectly in Big foots wheel!

Checking out the restoration...

BEAUTIFUL Car!

Cooling off!

4th

Happy 4th of July!

YEAY, FIREWORKS!!!
Josh had lit some fireworks at home a few times before we went to the stadium for the BIG ones. Bridget didn't like the spinning flowers or the fire crackers too much, so we were afraid of taking her. I don't know if it was because the ones at the stadium aren't so close or what, but Bridget liked them!

Dad/Grandpa wanted to cook breakfast for his kids on the 4th, So he did.
We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, ham, hash browns, biscuts and gravy.
Yummy!

Ammon, Ethan, and Bridget chillin' on the trampoline.

After breakfast we headed to the Hyrum parade. I don't know how much Bridget really payed attention, but I do know that she was so excited that she got TWO candies!

Despite the extreme heat... It was pretty fun.
