We finally started our deck with Dad, Mom and Jordan's help!
Dad spent many hours over here workin away in in to cold breeze.
After Dad got it all framed, Josh and I screwed all the Tex decking down, and tried to figure the stairs out. This is how is stands today. I am anxious to get it finished so the girls can be locked in the back yard and use their little imaginations! Last week we made a little fairy house, and Bridget captured a potato bug and built this big house for it with leaves and bark, and what ever junk she could find in the yard. I'm VERY excited for outside weather!!!
We built a trap to try and catch a leprechaun for St. Patrick's day. Bridget was so excited to see if she caught the little guy, but very nervous about him attacking her if she went down to check it out alone. I think they both were a little more excited to have a "pot of gold" in the trap rather than a feisty little leprechaun!Bridget took it upon herself to try and potty train Kaitlyn. I think K-Bob thought it was fun, but still unsure of what is supposed to go in the potty. She sure does like to waist the TP though!
Josh has gotten me half way excited about the renovation of the Apache! He has booked our stay at the Apache Rendezvous in CA the end of June, so we have been bustin' butt to get it fixed up a little! The previous owner felt like that EVERYTHING needed to be greased, so that has been my project, to clean all the nasty dirt filled grease off! So thinking I had the perfect thing, I used Grease Lightning, (which has worked wonders on many things) and started scrubbing. I thought it was pretty safe on the aluminium, and plastic, but I shortly found out that part of what I thought was plastic, was painted something and I stripped a good chunk on the front corner, so now I have to figure out how to fix that... I felt Bad, but I don't think Josh was too worried!
We started replacing the panelling on the ceiling. This is the new and looks a whole lot better than the pealing gold fleck that was on there before. Then we did the side walls a "Ash" wooden panel. It's going to be a little different, but I think it will be nice and cozy.
We have added two more raised beds in the garden that will have triple the amount of strawberries we have. The other "new" garden will be our salsa garden with all tomatoes, peppers and tomatillos (if they live) Then our Garden that you see Joey taking over, will have some eggplant, cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, onions, peas... and in other gardens that we still need to build, asparagus, squash, and maybe try watermelon... we haven't been very successful at that one, but we'll try again. I always have high hopes for our garden every year, and we usually do "ok", but this year, I want it to be AMAZING, so we are trying to start out good.
Lastly, the girls have been tormenting each other like CRAZY! Kaitlyn can dish it out just as much as Bridget, if not more... so it's a challenge lately to keep the girls quiet and under control while Josh tries to sleep during the day. It's A LOT of work! I like to tell myself that it's because they are girls... but I don't know the truth to that statement. BUT, I do know that they are a couple of handfuls!!!
Even if they appear to be stinkin' cute!!! :)
