I walked outside to go find Bridget the other day just as a huge wind storm was blowing through, only to find her talking to her Poppie.  I stand on the side of the house to try and listen to what she is saying.  I hear her with an old bag and some newspaper that she collected from the neighbors trash that had been tumbling through our yard.  She had a marker and was "writing" out loud: " Dear Poppie, I miss you so much.  I wish I could see you again."  After she is done writing, she takes the newspaper and shoves it into the bag. She tries to throw it up into the sky in hopes that the wind will carry it up to reach Poppie in the heavens.  The bag falls to the ground.  She tries again, and again.  Out of frustration, she kicks the bag.  She then looks up into the windy sky and says with a very disapointed little voice, "I don't know how to get it to you."
I walk back into the house trying to hold back the tears of a helpless mother, before she noticed me.  I told Josh what was going on.  He went out and told her that when there was a better day, he would help her light a wish lantern for Poppie.

Today was a good day.
